Shipping Policy

Kernel Encore Gourmet Popcorn is unlike other popcorn companies that only have a hand full of flavors. We offer 300 flavors! But in order to maintain quality and freshness we only make your popcorn once it has been ordered. After all we are not mind readers. We make every effort to ship your order quickly. Most orders will ship within one to two business days. Orders placed on weekends and holidays are considered received on the following business day. Orders placed after business hours will be received by our popcorn specialists the following business day.

When Will I Get My Popcorn?

The map below shows the FedEx Ground delivery zones. The map key shows the expected delivery date for orders placed now for both Standard Shipping and Expedited Shipping methods. This includes all orders under $500. Residential deliveries may be delivered earlier on Saturday (instead of Monday). Shipments leave our facility between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM EST on business days. You will receive a shipping confirmation when your order is ready to leave our facility. You may receive a shipping confirmation late in the day or over the weekend for an order that will not leave our facility until the next business day. We do not ship to PO Boxes. Providing a PO Box shipping address could delay processing your order. Many USPS branch locations offer street addressing as an opt-in service that we can ship to (restrictions apply; see your post office for details). The tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation will give you the ability to track your package with FedEx after the package is scanned into their system. Bulk Orders Over $500

For orders over $500 we add one additional business day to our maximum order processing time for each $500 increment (based on order subtotal before discount, shipping and sales tax). This is necessary to allow enough production time for your order. This includes all Standard Shipping, Expedited Shipping and Rush Shipping methods.

Standard Orders

Due to high order volume Standard Shipping orders may be delayed. If your order confirmation email shows an "unknown" expected delivery date and you need your popcorn by a specific date please reply to the email and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Your request may not be sooner than the Standard Shipping date shown in the map above.
Standard Shipping allows up to 3 business days for order processing time. We'll never hold your order unnecessarily and often will ship it within 1-2 business days. Standard Shipping charges are based on the dimensional weight of the products ordered and will be calculated during checkout. Our Standard Shipping order cutoff time is 4 AM EST on each business day (Monday through Friday non-holiday).

Expedited/Rush Orders

This section details the * as noted in some shipping methods. We understand that sometimes you need your popcorn to arrive in a hurry. We offer 1 business day order processing when you select Expedited Shipping, Rush 3-Day Shipping, Rush 2-Day Shipping or Rush Next Day Shipping. This means we will push your order to the top of the order queue and get it ready to go on or before the next business day when your order is received by 6 PM EST. Expedited Shipping still requires Ground time in transit as detailed in the map. For faster guaranteed time in transit select Rush Next Day Shipping, Rush 2-Day Shipping or Rush 3-Day Shipping. Saturday rush delivery is available by phone order ONLY (additional charge will apply). All available options and costs are offered to you during the checkout process. The order processing guarantee comes from Kernel Encore and we will use a faster shipping method if we are not able to get your order shipped out when expected. The delivery guarantee comes from FedEx and can be restricted by FedEx due to events outside of their control. Air shipments to Alaska do not have a guaranteed delivery day. Our Expedited Shipping/Rush Shipping order cutoff time is 6 PM EST on the day prior to each business day (Sunday through Thursday non-holiday). Orders do not typically ship out same day due to production time requirements.

Optional Delivery Signature Required

All Kernel Encore shipments automatically have a "signature release," which means that the package can be dropped off without requiring a signature. In most cases for residential deliveries, the delivery driver will knock or ring the bell, and if there is no answer, will leave the box somewhere safe at the delivery location. If no one will be home to receive the delivery we offer Delivery Signature Required service for $4.75 per order. Carriers typically will not honor lost/stolen package claims when their system shows the package was delivered.

APO/FPO/DPO, US Territory & Small Box Shipments

We use USPS Priority Mail shipping services for all shipments to APO/FPO/DPO addresses and US Territory addresses. The available options and costs are offered to you during the checkout process. Additionally, some small box shipments may be sent via USPS Priority Mail at the discretion of our shipping team. The tracking number provided in your shipping confirmation will give you the ability to track your package on USPS.com after the package is scanned into their system.

Hold Delivery

If you are ordering from 2 weeks to 3 months early you can schedule the date you would like to receive your popcorn during the checkout process. If you want your popcorn to arrive faster please leave this set to "No". We always pop and ship based on the FedEx expected time in transit for your address so we recommend picking a date that is 1-3 weekdays before the last one available before your event date just in case FedEx Ground/Home Delivery runs later than normal. So if you are using our popcorn on a weekend then pick a Tuesday to Thursday delivery date. If you want to set a Hold Delivery date sooner than two weeks you may do so after placing your order as long as your request is not sooner than the Standard Shipping expected deliver by date for your zone. Refused, Undeliverable & Cancelled Orders

All refused or undeliverable orders will be refunded if received back in the original unopened packaging. A return/restocking fee will be assessed based on a percentage of the product price (30% for perishable/food items and 15% for non-perishable items). Shipping charges (including return shipping charges) and ALL processing service charges will be deducted prior to issuing the refund. Please Note: Carriers make up to three delivery attempts. After the third attempt, if no alternate delivery arrangements have been made with the carrier by the receiver at the delivery address, the shipment will be returned to us and therefore considered an undeliverable order. If you contact us before the refund is processed, we may at our discretion reship the same items for the actual costs of the return shipment and the reshipment. If an order is cancelled prior to shipping, a 30% restocking fee will be assessed for the portion of the order already produced prior to issuing the refund. If a Return Authorization has been approved and a return label has been sent you must get the box(es) to FedEx within 3 business days for the Return Authorization to remain in effect.

Warm Weather Shipping

While we take every precaution to ensure you are completely satisfied with our popcorn, shipping any of our chocolate products during warm months may cause the product to melt. If you do order chocolate products please inspect the product for melting before you open it. You may be able to place the bag(s) in a freezer for a short amount of time to allow the chocolate to harden again. Regrettably we cannot guarantee against melting chocolate.
